ABOUT FINUS/88
FINUS/88 is a media arts symposium and performance is a three part series created to showcase the emerging artists in the field of electronic arts from Finland and the United States. The symposium offers exciting performances from musicians, performance, and video artists as well as compelling lectures and master classes on the artists creative process.

FINUS/88 is an artistic collaboration between FINUS: Finland US Cultural Alliance and 88 space, both interested in the development and promotion of Finnish artists in the US and US artists in Finland.

The FINUS/88 performances will take place in the months of December 2009, February 2010 and March 2010


FINUS: Finland US Cultural Alliance is a non-profit organization with the mission to produce intercultural exchange and learning through the arts between Finland and the United States of America. FINUS fosters mutual learning, social, personal development and long lasting artistic relationships between individuals and organizations. FINUS has three main goals:

  1. Expanding the understanding of Finland's diverse art culture in the United States through the promotion of Finnish arts and artists in the United States

  2. Supporting the cross-fertilization between the art and culture worlds of the United States and Finland

  3. Promoting the broader aspects of Finnish culture in the United States and American (USA) culture in Finland
